Passo has been certified through the North American Police Work Dog Association (NAPWDA) for narcotic detection and patrol duties. His narcotic detection certifications include the odors of LSD, cocaine, marijuana, heroin, and meth. His patrol duty certifications include obedience, agility, tracking, building search, article search and protection.

Passo is now retired from the Downers Grove, Illinois police department.
